Description:
The YMCA in Danville, Virginia is a 48,285 square foot recreational facility built in 24 months along the banks of the Dan River. The project was completed in September 2014. The building is structural steel framed with a masonry exterior, storefront glass and curtain walls, exposed timber beams, drywall interior walls, custom cabinetry, ceramic tile, resilient sports flooring, hardwood flooring, and a TPO roof system. Serving the Danville area as recreational facility, after-school care, and health club, the YMCA contains an indoor walking track, a heated swimming pool, sauna room, gymnasium, and several fitness rooms for group cardio, weight-lifting, and Nautilus equipment. The project was managed by Jon Tibbs and Brian Nichols and built by Larry Brumfield.
