In the fall of 2011, Danville became the home of a Cray Super Computer and Blair helped to create its new home. Utilizing a historic tobacco warehouse on Bridge Street, Noblis teamed with the IDA to bring the supercomputer, along with some computer technology jobs, to town. Blair added a large elevator, some ‘open air’ office space, and a secure computing environment to the top floor of the historic Old Belt Building. Noblis is a nonprofit science, technology, and strategy organization that helps clients solve complex scientific systems, process and infrastructure problems in ways that benefit the public. Headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia, Noblis employs accomplished scientists, analysts, engineers, researchers, technology specialists and management experts in offices throughout the U.S.
